GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE TOM EMMER JOINS ERNIE LEIDIGER

IN CARVER COUNTY JUNE 26 “TO RAISE THE ROOF”

AT LEIDIGER’S STATE HOUSE CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF BBQ

CARVER COUNTY, Minn., June 14 – Joining together to call for smaller state government and no more mandates on local government, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer and State Representative candidate Ernie Leidiger, are expected to meet Sat., Jun 26 here in one of the best campaign parties of the year.

“People deciding always tops government deciding,” Leidiger said as he announced the event, which is open to the public and will begin at 4 p.m. at the Leidiger farm at 7775 Tacoma Ave., near Mayer and just west of Waconia. “The evening will include live music, great food, great entertainment, and, of course, Tom Emmer our next governor of the great state of Minnesota.”

Also expected at the event are Congressman John Kline and State Senator Julianne Ortman.

Ernie Leidiger is the endorsed candidate running for Minnesota House seat 34A for the western Carver County cities of Carver, Victoria, Waconia, Watertown, Norwood Young America, a portion of Chaska and the Scott County townships of Jackson, St. Lawrence and Lewisville, near Jordan and Bell Plaine.  Both Leidiger and Emmer are calling for “lean and mean government.”

“At stake is the American dream and opportunities for future generations,” Leidiger said, “We’re going bankrupt and need to address costs, including exorbitant spending and unfunded mandates. It’s time for the states to assume leadership and not wait for leadership from the federal government.”

Deb Waller of Watertown worked with Leidiger to help endorse Emmer for Governor. She plans to attend and volunteer for the campaign and says that she is "thrilled to see the all of the local people excited about getting involved to return government to the people."

Leidiger is a decorated Desert Storm veteran and a retired Naval Officer and a former owner and founder of Operation Homefront, a charity for dependants of deployed service members. He has owned Brothers Office Furniture, for the last five years, which is a member of the Twin West and North Hennepin County Chambers of Commerce, and the Minnesota Defense Alliance. Ernie Leidiger is on the board of directors of the local US Naval Academy Alumni Association, and is a member of the American Legion and VFW. He is a long-time conservative and lives with his wife Jan in Camden Township, west of Waconia.
